Cities Skylines has been one of my favourite games to play when I want to chill out and watch some TV while gaming. It provides me some good problems solving and creativity to be fun. At the time of writing, I’ve put in about 300 hours into the game. However, one thing that I’ve a had problem with is comparing the utilities in the game for their costs and efficiency as the city grows and the utilities are unlocked. That’s why I’ve built the Cities Skylines Utilities Calculator.
The App
The Cities Skylines Utilities Calculator allows you to build out the utilities you have and compare them for other options to help maximise costs and efficiency. It also provides some details around pollution.
You can:
- Build out your existing developments to get stats
- Compare utilities by category
- Save your builds so you can come back later to make changes as your build your city
- Review the data references
I was able to build this using Claude AI since I’m not good at coding but it’s been good to be able to create something and give back to the community that love the game.
The Site
It’s hosting on GitHub so you can check out the code yourself if you want, otherwise check it out and see how it can help you with the game. This has been built to focus on Cities Skylines (2014), but hasn’t really been focused on Cities Skylines 2. This might be something I had in future revisions.
