Since the annoucement of the new iPad, Apple and retailers have dropped the price of the currnet Apple iPad.
With the arrival of the new iPad to hit Australian stores by 25th March, stores have dropped the price of the current iPad by as much as $200. Apple has also stated that if you have purchased a new iPad within fourteen days of the permanent price drop, you may request refund on the difference.
